Michael Wandmacher: Chain Letter

Michael Wandmacher, the composer who scored Cry Wolf and recently had his score for The Killing Floor released on CD by MovieScore Media, is doing the score for Chain Letter, a thriller directed by Deon Taylor. The film stars Nikki Reed, Ling Bai, Noah Segan and Matt Cohen and tells the story about a murderer who attacks people who are refusing to forward chain mail. Saw producer Mark Burg and Roxanne Avent are executive producing the film. Deon Taylor recently wrote and directed horror films 7eventy 5ive and Nite Tales: The Movie.

Alexandre Desplat: Afterwards

French composer Alexandre Desplat, who was recently voted 'Composer of the Year' for the second year in a row by the International Film Music Critics Association, is doing the music for Afterwards, a drama starring John Malkovich, Evangeline Lilly and Reece Thompson. A co-production between France, Germany, Canada and the US, the film is directed by Gilles Bourdos, a French filmmaker for whom Desplat previously scored A Sight for Sore Eyes in 2003. Afterwards is based on a novel by Guillaume Musso about a lawyer who meets a doctor who claims that he can sense when certain people are about to die. The film is expected to premiere in October. On March 17, Alexandre Desplat is up for an Asian Film Award - his score for last year's Lust, Caution was nominated for the "Best Composer" award.
