Laura Karpman is writing the score for Ace Ventura 3, aka Ace Ventura Pet Detective Jr, directed by David Mickey Evans. In this sequel, the son of the eccentric detective known from the first two films in the series, steps into his father's shoes. Josh Flitter stars as the young detective, and other cast members include Chris Adler and Ann Cusack. Karpman previously scored The Sandlot 2 for David Mickey Evans. Her other recent films include Man in the Chair and Out at the Wedding. She is best known for her score for the sci-fi tv series Taken and the video game scores Everquest II and Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom. Morgan Creek produces Ace Ventura 3 for a theatrical release later this year, premiere date tbd.

Andrew Hollander: Serious Moonlight
Serious Moonlight, a comedy starring Kristen Bell, Justin Long, Meg Ryan and Timothy Hutton, will get an original score by Andrew Hollander, according to the composer's agency, Evolution Music Partners. The film is produced by All For A Films and Night and Day Pictures, who previously worked with Hollander on last year's romantic comedy Waitress. Cheryl Hines, an actress/director who starred in Waitress, helms Serious Moonlight. Hollander is also attached to Sweet Flame, a comedy directed by Amy Hobby (Coney Island Baby), starring Mira Sorvino, Henry Thomas and Jeremy Sisto.

Adam Gorgoni: Still Waiting
Composer Adam Gorgoni will follow up his score for the 2005 comedy Waiting, scoring its sequel Still Waiting, starring Justin Long, Danneel Harris, Vanessa Lengies, Tania Raymonde and Luis Guzmán. The sequel is directed by Jeff Balis, who produced the first film and is making his feature film helming debut with Still Waiting. 44-year old Adam Gorgoni's previous credits include The Dead Girl, Blue Car and Candyman: Day of the Dead.

Eef Barzelay: Yellow Handkerchief
Eef Barzelay, who wrote the original music for last year's Sundance hit Rocket Science, is doing the music for Yellow Handkerchief, a road movie starring William Hurt, Maria Bello and Eddie Redmayne. The film is directed by Udayan Prasad, whose previous features include My Son the Fanatic and Opa! Israel-born Eef Barzelay is best known as the front man of alternative country band Clem Snide, and he also released his first solo album, "Bitter Honey", in 2006. His second album, "Lose Big", is coming out next month.

Mark Kilian: Traitor
Traitor, a drama about terrorism directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (who wrote the screenplay for The Day After Tomorrow with Roland Emmerich), gets an original score by Mark Kilian, whose previous credits include Tsotsi and Rendition (both scored together with Paul Hepker). Traitor stars Guy Pearce, Don Cheadle and Jeff Daniels, has been shot on location in France, Canada and Morocco and is produced by Mandeville Films and Overture Films. Film is scheduled to premiere in October.

Alec Puro: The Thacker Case
Alec Puro, who wrote an acclaimed score for last year's The Good Night, is doing the music for The Thacker Case, a crime thriller currently in post-production. It's directed by Brian Jun, who made Steel City in 2006, a film that was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards. The story is about a mysterious death of a repeat drunk driving offender whose body is found in an alley behind the police station after his latest arrest. Michael Welch, Eliza Dushku and John Savage lead the cast.

George S. Clinton: The Love Guru
Comedy specialist George S. Clinton (teams up again with Mike 'Austin Powers' Myers, scoring his new film The Love Guru, which will be released in theatres by Paramount on June 20. Clinton scored all three Austin Powers movies. Myers stars as Pitka, who was raised by gurus abroad and returns to the US attempting to break into the self-help business. Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson and Ben Kingsley co-star, while Marco Schnabel (second unit director on the third Austin Powers movie) directs. George S. Clinton also has Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay on his list of upcoming films.
