David Hirschfelder: The Children of Huang Shi

Australian composer David Hirschfelder (Elizabeth, Sliding Doors, Shine) is working with veteran director Roger Spottiswoode on his latest film, The Children of Huang Shi. It takes place in China during the Japanese occupation in 1937, telling the story about a young journalist and a brave nurse who save a group of orphaned children. Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Radha Mitchell, Yun-Fat Chow and Michelle Yeoh star in the drama, which is produced by Rouge Entertainment and scheduled to be released by Sony Pictures Classics on April 3. Hirschfelder recently scored Spottiswoode's film adaptation of the Romeo Dallaire autobiography Shake Hands with the Devil.
