Gabriel Yared: Adam Resurrected

Veteran filmmaker Paul Schrader's upcoming Adam Resurrected, will get an original score composed by Gabriel Yared, whose recent credits include Mikael Håfström's horror film 1408 and Menno Meyjes' romantic drama Manolete. Taxi Driver and Raging Bull scribe Schrader's new film is based on the novel by Yoram Kaniuk and tells the story about a former circus entertainer who survived the Nazi's concentration camp and gets a job at an asylum for Holocaust survivors. Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe and Derek Jacobi stars in the film which is a German-American co-production. Yared, whose previous acclaimed scores include The English Patient, Cold Mountain and The Talented Mr. Ripley, also has the score for The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency coming up.

Mark Sayfritz: The Shepherd

Mark Sayfritz has jut finished work on his third score for a Jean-Claude van Damme action picture. Following Second in Command and Until Death is The Shepherd, which is directed by Isaac Florentine who has similar titles such as Undisputed II: Last Man Standing, Bridge of Dragons and Special Forces on his filmography. In The Shepherd, van Damme plays a cop in Texas who hunts down ex-navy seals smuggling drugs from Mexico. Film is scheduled to be released on March 4, going directly to DVD distributed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Graeme Revell: The Ruins

Graeme Revell returns to the world of horror (where he started out in the business scoring Dead Calm, Spontaneous Combustion and Child's Play 2) with the music for Australian-American genre movie The Ruins, directed by Carter Smith and starring Shawn Ashmore, Laura Ramsey, Jonathan Tucker and Joe Anderson. The film is based on Scott Smith's novel about a bunch of friends who embark on a archaeological dig in the jungle, discovering something evil that lives among the ruins. Revell's longtime collaborator, Joshua Winget, is doing the music editing on the picture. It's scheduled to premiere on April 8, distributed in the US by Dreamworks.
