Rachel Portman, who won an Oscar for Emma ten years ago, is currently working on the music for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, the sequel to the 2005 film scored by Cliff Eidelman. The new film is directed by Sanaa Hamri who made last year's Something New, and it stars Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn. Produced by Alcon Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros., the film is scheduled to premiere on August 8 next year. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 is Portman's first film score since last year's Infamous and The Lake House; she has been busy writing concert music including a work for the BBC Proms.
